Responding to the challenges of sustainable development implies fundamental commitments by all actors for the planet and for societies. Because of their vulnerability, the least developed countries, such as those in sub-Saharan Africa, are particularly concerned by the impact of the commitments made. By aiming at the unhindered dissemination of scientific productions, the open science movement seeks to make the scientific process more transparent, inclusive and democratic.
Three years later, the 2022 edition of the "Open Science in the South" conference provided an overview of approaches to the management and opening of research data in Africa, particularly in French-speaking Africa, and to share and promote good practices. It will be structured around cross-experiences, success stories and workshops on the following themes
Aimed at information professionals, representatives of institutions dedicated to the dissemination of scientific information or in charge of research policies who wish to share their experiences, this conference will allow to extend the reflection initiated during the previous conference, and to key, new or emerging points.
The conference was co-organized by IRD, CIRAD and the National Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters of Benin (ANSALB).
