Recommendations of the symposium

"Open Science: The Necessary Standard for African Research." Recommendations of the symposium

These recommendations were produced by participants of the symposium "Open Science in the South. Management and openness of research data: panorama and perspectives in Africa", organized in Cotonou (Benin) from October 25 to 27, 2022. In line with the UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science and the Dakar Declaration ( 10.5281/zenodo.3577891 ), these recommendations aim to support the development of a true open science culture among African scientists.

They are articulated around 4 axes: the implementation of national open science policies, capacity building, inclusion of all stakeholders and cooperation at the continental and international levels.
