Call for papers, workshops and posters

The call focuses on the management and openness of research data, protocols, algorithms and computer codes in Africa, particularly in French-speaking and Malagasy countries, with the following themes and sub-themes :

  • Recommendations and requirements of governments, institutions and research funders for open science
    • Policy and governance
    • Funding and openness/sharing
    • Preservation of scientific digital heritage
    • Recognition of management and openness activities
  • Management, sharing and dissemination mechanisms: practices, benefits, obstacles
    • Animation or creation of communities of practice
    • Open archives (repositories of scientific documents, data, protocols, algorithms and computer codes)
    • Open source vs. Open software (freeware/shareware)
    • Digitization of scientific resources
    • Access and tools dedicated to the opening of data, protocols, algorithms, codes and software
    • Research data management plan (DMP)
    • Scientific platforms and observatories
  • Ethical and legal issues, editorial and business models
    • Legal and ethical aspects (risks and protections)
    • Open innovation and associated risks
    • Policies of publishers, data warehouses and sharing platforms
    • Publication and digital research production links
    • Easy to find, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable (FAIR): FAIRization of digital productions, awareness and management training for FAIR sharing
    • Feedback on the reuse of scientific productions by political, social and economic actors

The conference will be divided into plenary sessions, workshops and poster sessions.

General instructions

Oral communications, proposals for workshop themes or posters are accepted. Submissions may be made in French or English langages.

Submissions will be made via the conference website at the page Submit a proposal.

Accepted submissions will be announced on the website.

Important dates

  • March 1, 2022 - opening of the call for papers
  • June 30, 2022 - closing of the call
  • July 29, 2022 - notification of the scientific committee's decision

Coverage of expenses

A limited number of invitations (travel and accommodation expenses will be covered) will be offered to selected speakers as part of the call for papers, workshops and posters.
